How to update your infotainment system

This update requires you to go to your car, then your computer and back to your car. This update can also be performed by your preferred dealership.
You Will Need
- Computer with Windows® system (no tablets or mobile devices); read system requirements
Windows
- Windows 7 SP1 or newer, VC++ 2012 (Included in download)
- USB port and 1 GB RAM
- High-speed internet
- May require up to 32GB free disk space
- USB drive, 4 GB or higher with FAT32 format
- High-speed internet connection
Instructions
Prepare media
- Format a USB drive. Learn more.
Follow these steps to prepare and format USB drive.
- On a computer, right click on the USB drive icon
- Select Format
- Select Start
- Use the ignition system to turn on vehicle and tap OK on the "Caution" screen. Insert your USB drive into the appropriate slot on your infotainment system. Learn more.
Refer to your vehicle's owner manual for the location of the USB drive slot.
Insert USB Drive

Select Settings > About > Software Update.

Select Set up USB Drive. Your Infotainment System will display “Set up completed“, Select OK and remove the USB drive.
Retrieve software update

Open Garmin Updater (Launcher.exe) on your computer. Garmin Updater is free desktop software for updating Garmin devices.

Connect USB drive to your computer, and wait for it to be detected, then tap OK.

If an update is available, select Update. The download and installation will begin. The time it takes depends on your internet speed.
Keep USB drive connected throughout the process

When the installation is complete, remove the USB drive.
Install update in vehicle

Use the ignition system to turn on vehicle, and tap OK on the "Caution" screen. Insert your USB drive into the appropriate slot on your infotainment system.

System update pop-up will appear automatically. Select Update.

Installation will begin automatically and may take up to 10 minutes. You may see the system power off and restart. Your Infotainment System will display "Updated successfully" if the software was updated successfully.
Keep USB drive connected throughout the process and do not turn off the system or engine during this process.
